AIDS quilt comes to south Florida

Everyone who died of AIDS had a story, and 44,000 are shared on a quilt.

Portions of the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be displayed from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale. The African-American Research Library on Sistrunk Boulevard will display it from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1.

In Lake Worth, the Compass Gay and Lesbian Center will host a display ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday.
